Effective March 1, 2011, for dressage: Anyone mounted on a horse must wear protective headgear except those riders age 18 and over while on horses that are competing only in FEI levels and tests at the Prix St. Georges level and above (including FEI Young Rider Tests, the USEF Developing Prix St. Georges Test and the USEF Brentina Cup Test).

AWARDS: Trophy and 6 ribbons. Qualifying classes will not be pinned separately. Champion and Reserve for the weekend in each division.   High scores. FEI High score. The Dover Adult Medal is Second Level Test 3 and is open USDF Member Adult Amateurs.   There will no be award ceremonies.   Prizes will  be mailed only if competitor pays a $10 fee for shipping cost.   March prizes may be picked up at the May shows.

ENTRIES:   All horses brought on the show grounds must have a complete entry form.  Make checks payable to Gosling Horse Show LLC. Checks must accompany entry form. Proof of USEF membership, HID and a copy of a negative coggins within the past 12 months must be included with entry. Please go to http://www.eqverification.org/index.php?pageid=0 for a single page with all your cards on it.   Post entries may be accepted with permission of manager and a late fee    No faxed entries.   All entries in Great American Insurance Group Qualifying classes must include proof of USEF and USDF Lifetime Horse registration.

OFFICIAL RIDE TIMES: Official ride times will be posted Friday by 12 noon. Tentative times will be posted at www.goslinghorseshow.com.   It is the rider’s responsibility to check their official ride times for changes upon their arrival at the show. It is the rider’s responsibility to inform the Management of any time conflicts at least 24 hours before the scheduled ride. Classes may be scheduled out of order.

STABLING: 180 permanent 10' x 10' stalls with doors are available. Shavings are available for $8 each. Please indicate shavings on entry form. Tack stalls available.

ARENAS: Show: 20m x 60m limestone ; Warm-up: Outdoor: Limestone.

VETERINARY AND FARRIER: Both will be on call during the show. The numbers will be posted in the show office and end of each barn. Sharp containers will be provided for proper disposal of medical waste.   Greene and Associates

LOCATION: Serenity Farms, 27460 Polo Road, Folsom, LA. From I-12, exit #57 1077 Goodbee/Madisonville. Go north 12.6 miles. (Do not turn when 1077 turns right.) Stay straight. When road curve sharp right, start looking for Polo Road. Turn left on Polo Road. Serenity Farm is on the left. Serenity Farm 985-796-0760.

REFUNDS: We do not refund entries after closing date. Before closing date entries will be refunded less the office fee.   This includes cancellation due to severe weather or other emergencies.

DOGS of a pleasant nature are welcome but must be leashed.

SCHOOLING may be allowed Friday in the show arenas weather permitting. Everyone is required to wear a hard hat when mounted . All horses must be entered and wear a number at all times while out of their stalls.

SCORING errors must be reported to the Show Secretary within ONE hour of official posting of the scores from the last class of the show day during which the score was earned.

FREESTYLE : A photocopy of a test (60% highest test of level) verifying eligibility must accompany entry.

All entries are accepted with the understanding that neither "Dressage Across the Lake", Gosling Horse Show LLC, Serenity Farms, Betsy Gosling or any of their employees will be responsible for any loss, personal injury, or damage to horse or for any article of any kind or any nature that may be lost or destroyed or any other way damaged.

The following is only a small portion of the rules. If you are entering a recognized Competition, you are responsible for understanding all pertinent rules.   Contact THE FEDERATION at (859) 258-2472 if you need a Rule book..

CONCESSIONS: Food concessions will be available on the show grounds during the performances of the show.

NUMBERS: Numbers must be worn at all times when a horse is out of stall. Each horse/rider combination is considered a separate entry and must fill out a separate entry form and will be issued a different number. Failure to wear a competitor number is cause for elimination.
               
RULE ENFORCEMENT: All rules will be enforced from the time a competitor arrives on the show grounds. Competition Management/Show Committee has the authority to eliminate for use of illegal equipment during a test that is discovered after the competitor has left the arena.

SIGNATURES: Any and all handlers, assistant handler, drivers, riders, trainers, owners, agents, lessees, parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, and coaches of horses (or riders)are required to sign an entry blank. Riders, owners, and trainers must be USEF members or pay a non-member fee

TIES: In all competitions the winner is the competitor having the highest total points, the second placed competitor is the one with the next highest total points and so on. In case of equality of points the competitor with the highest marks received under General Impressions shall be declared the winner. When the scores for General Impressions are equal the horses must remain tied.

WARNING
Under Louisiana Law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional
is not liable for an injury to or death of a participant in equine activities
resulting form the inherent risk of equine activities, pursuant to R. S.
9:2795.1.
 Motorized Vehicle Statement
In accordance with GR1301.7:
Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a
motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a
motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters,
or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who
have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as
long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. Violations of this rule
will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are
responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the
child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the
remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in
accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for
individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT
Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider,driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined DrivingCompetitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in thefollowing classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2)exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
